It is this discussion that truly shows how fricking retarded and insecure most of my fellow UGA fans are. It's not enough that Herschel Walker was great, arguably the best, and the legitimate equal to Bo Jackson, they have to say that it isn't close and that Herschel is far and away better.

They're both great. Herschel was a better pure tailback, and he carried UGA more than Bo carried Auburn, but Auburn ran a wishbone and had Tommy Agee (an 7-year NFL fullback), Lionel James (an NFL runningback who set the all-time NFL record for all-purpose yards), and Brent Fullwood (a consensus All-American and NFL Pro Bowl runningback). Bo didn't carry his team like Herschel because Auburn had NFL talent galore in its backfield.

Herschel undoubtedly had the better NFL career, but Bo was also great (as a part-time player).

They're both great. Herschel is in the Hall of Fame (I think), and Bo was a transcendental two-sport athlete and all-star in MLB and NFL. Herschel was a better pure runningback, but if you ask a random dude in Bratislava, Slovakia, he probably doesn't know who Herschel Walker is, but may well know who Bo Jackson is.

The only wrong answer is that it isn't close, or that one is very clearly better than the other.
