Congrats Moo State!

For those that are new to SEC baseball, Ron Polk, not Skip Bertman, was the man that put SEC Baseball on the map. I grew up going to the old Alex Box games and there would be less than 50 people in the stands for any given game. In 1985, Moo State and Polk came through town for a weekend series with LSU. The Moo State absolutely packed the third base line. That weekend they had more fans in the stadium than LSU put in the seats all year. The cowbells and cheering was unbelievable for a baseball game.

Of course, that was the series that LSU took 2 of 3 from the number 1 team in the nation and this series was arguably the start of LSU Dynasty.

PS - I hated Ron Polk as a coach but love the guy as a person.

Ron Polk was always an a-hole. At least my encounters with him always were. Jackie Sherrill on the other hand... Definitely a nice guy. Type of guy you would want on your side going into enemy territory. That's just what I gathered from drinking scotch and smoking cigars with him couple of times out and about.

Congrats to Miss. St! (It must be noted that Georgia was the first SEC school to ever win the CWS -- not sure if we ever will it again, tho).

I was a State student at the time and went to that 1985 series in Baton Rouge.
