12 is too many. I like 8 bc two of the best teams could be from same conference or same division . Also helps Bama chances of making it every year

How do we justify increasing the amount of games, when everyone is already screaming that “the system” is taking advantage of the student athletes?
It may be what fans and media want, but shame on people who are looking out for players if they allow this to happen.
If they want more playoffs games and teams, cut out some regular season and conference championship games.

With 12 there would be bye weeks to get to 8 so the 12 really isn’t the top teams playing anyway. The top 4 get a bye, the 5-12 slug it out. So in reality you are getting what you want, just another week of watching someone else other than Bama.
