I think all the original article was indicating was that LSU is a program on the downturn. It isn't a big secret or anything that can be hidden by denial of what is happening.

For goodness sakes, LSU only won 5 games last season. That is very, very bad and speaks to deep and troubling issues within the staff, among the players, and with the program as a whole.

I mean, let's face it, a big time program doesn't just have a record of 5-5 for no reason. There's turmoil, there's division, there's a lack of trust in the coaching staff and the players have likely lost respect for those instructing them.

That's how it goes. It must make LSU fans feel let down, desperate, and feeling kind of frantic because they know that they look ridiculous to fans of other teams trying to come up with excuses for why it is this way now.

I wonder if LSU wins even five games this year? It's a valid question. A&M, on the other hand, looks to be the new power to be dealt with in the SEC. A&M fans likely are feeling very good about the future of the team they support.
