Didn't read coming from you. I would ask if you even went to Alabama, but then again... I know that Alabama is equivalent to a flag ship community college, so I don't give a shite.

Do you have to work this hard at being a jerk or does it come naturally? I didn't post a single word that was ANTI any school whatsoever. Just some facts and reasoning related back to the original post. Sorry if that offends you so much somehow.

And, yes, I did attend the Univ of Alabama, BS - Applied Physics.

College rankings are pretty much crap anyway, there's too many variables. But if you took a close look, Alabama and LSU are pretty much statistically equivalent when compared by most ranking services (and the ratings can change dramatically every year). LSU tends to have a bit more higher paying graduates, but Alabama does a pretty good job as two of the largest majors are nursing and education. That serves our state well but that's never gonna bump up the financial ratings much.

The fact is... all the SEC schools are capable of turning out really sharp graduates in specialized fields. I have known idiots who attended Harvard, and geniuses who went to Ole Miss. College is what YOU make of it, rankings be damned. As a whole, SEC schools are maybe not the top tier in the nation - but they are pretty dang good, and most would consider them to be good value overall for the cost vs quality of education. Great entertainment on fall Saturdays are just a huge bonus.

I didn’t mean for this to get into discussions on academics and academic rankings but the football boost to enrollment is completely correct. A buddy in administration at ole miss told me that year they were on game day with the big singer, Katie Perry, enrollment applications doubled that year. It’s like a huge 2 hour promotion for your school
