Dawgs247 has learned that the injury sustained by Georgia wide receiver Jermaine Burton is not expected to impact the 2021 football season. According to information gathered by Rusty Mansell and myself, Burton is expected to miss the rest of spring practice but a full recovery is expected at some point during late spring or early summer.
Burton went down with a knee injury in Tuesday's practice, exactly one week after fellow wideout George Pickens suffered a spring-ending, season-altering torn ACL that will require surgery. Persons with knowledge of the situation tell Dawgs247 that he was in a lot of pain and was carted off the field. Further tests have revealed that Burton is not in for a long-term recovery.
Burton was Georgia's third-leading receiver in 2020, his freshman season. He appeared in all 10 games, catching 27 passes for 404 yards and three scores. He led all UGA wideouts with four catches for 58 yards and a touchdown in the loss at Alabama in week four. He had a breakout performance in JT Daniels' first start when he caught eight passes for 197 yards and two scores in a 31-24 win over Mississippi State.

Why is there 4 downvotes
Great news. Would've been the worst start to spring practice I've ever seen if it was a worse injury.

I honestly wouldn't mind the SEC adopting what the Ivy League does. During the season they don't live tackle at practice and in the spring it's very limited when it comes to full contact.

That's great news, glad he wasn't seriously injured.

I don't see many live tackles going at at most spring practice.

LSU didn't live tackle for the entire 2020 season.
