Herb keeps trying to play like a point guard without the ball skills or shooting skills to effectively do so.

It feels out of necessity to get a spark when the team goes flat.

The defensive end of the court remains solid. When this team has been most effective, they have also dictated the offensive pace in transition. They force the opponent to react and stay on their heels, as they look to create space and enable high % shots driving inside or shooting outside with players in position to rebound.

At times, they seem to slow the pace and limit passing, which reduces the advantage their typical offense creates over the course of the game as teams tire out on defense. And, they take too many ill timed outside shots that don't have players in position to rebound or are simply lazy, unnecessarily hurried shots.

That said, great game against a well coached (certainly well rested and peaking) Iona squad to get the nerves and kinks out for tourney play. Maryland will be a test, but absolutely think the team is up for the challenge.

Frankly, I'm in the year 2 just glad to be here, proud of the teams accomplishments this year state of bliss.

Getting past Maryland sets up well for at least an Elite 8 showing, and potential for a tremendous game 4 Pear&Oats classic
