Sabear??? I never knew what it referenced until now.

That name, Sabear, that fans of various teams used to throw around a lot never made sense to me, until now. I was scrolling through some old SI covers and found this.
Bear Bryant and Saban could have been twins.

It never really made sense to me, the name Sabear. But, now, it does. It's amazing how they look so much alike.

I know now. I never realized Saban and Bryant were basically twins, no, I didn't know. It makes perfect sense to call him Sabear and now I know why he was called that.

I don't think it's horrible because hats are notoriously difficult to get right. It does seem like SI would have someone on staff that could have done a little better though.
It seems as if the brim of the hat disappears into Saban's forehead above his right eye, which throws off the whole image.
But, it's not horrible. Let's just say that for someone getting paid to do that, they could have done a little better.
