That is just not how it works in CBB though, the tournament is king. It doesn't matter how much you put yourself in a good position to win in the tournament if you lose early.
If Gonzaga finishes the season undefeated, then gets upset by Podunk A&M in the 1st game, does that erase all the success they experienced that season?
Success in post-season events are GREAT, but imo, the trip is more important than the destination.
