Abbas Qali has apparently retired from competitive swimming. Qali, who represented Kuwait at two Olympics, goes out on a high note, winning 4 gold medals at the Gulf State Games this week.

Fun filled fact... yours truly was the first Alabama swimmer to train with the Kuwaiti national team. I did it in Denver, summer before my freshman year. 2 other future Bama walk ons were on the Kuwaiti squad... and I hysterically swam with those 2 back home in Florida. Shout out to Waleed and Khalid for the pipeline
