I gladly acknowledge there was some things outside of their control (the pandemic being the most obvious). The question becomes, "How well did they handle the things within their control?" I think that's where you'll find some folks with differing opinions.

I think most who pay attention would say LSU didn’t do a great job of managing the pandemic and the team generally in the spring or summer. They did get better though and by the end of the year the core of players they had gelled into an actual football team I was extremely proud of.

It’s one thing to be on top of your game when everything is going well, it’s another for young guys to take ownership of the program in the middle of a miserable season and rally together and win your last two games the way they did. We’ll see if they can carry that momentum into next season where instead of being without 20/22 starters they’ll be bringing that number back.
