From my perspective, and expereince, Bama fans generally dont seem as engaged or to be "having much fun" when I went to their games
I think it has multiple reasons:
1. their fanbase seemed old. alot older than most. Obviously that plays a part
2. Their student body is over 50% out of state. That is nuts for a state university, and obviously doesnt produce as much of a die hard environment for the younger crowd
3. They are so used to success, everything seems bland. If you are raised on 5 star dining, having a great meal loses its luster

There is nothing better than being judged on how much fun you are having and then lectured about how you are not, in fact, having fun when you are, in fact, having fun.
