Seeing the news about TD moving back to LB and the plans of running a 3-4 defense, does this mean Hall should be considered an OLB now? He’s extremely strong but I don’t see him as a DE in the 3-4 scheme unless the DE are spreaded way out over the OTs but that’s unlikely. Leads me to think guys like him and Romello are now considering OLB now? Even if the still have basically the same job as a BUCK I don’t know if they’ll still line up on the line of scrimmage or from a traditional OLB position. Just curious.

Hall played some linebacker this past year. It was not pretty. He’s a DE period.

quote:Nah. We're going to run alot of Okie fronts and he'll have two resposibilites instead of one. So he'd better get used to it.

Mason in recent years has not been strictly a 3-4 guy. He's ran some 4-3 (or 4-2-5) at Vandy.
But it will likely depend on AU's roster and if he thinks he can make chicken salad out of chicken shite.

Umm he only dropped back in coverage 13 times last season and allowed 2 catches for 22 yards but ok lol. He’s been trained to do one thing since he got on campus of course he’s not great in coverage. He does have the skillset to ability to play LB though. He played both sides in the allstar game he’s an athlete I’m not worried was just uncertain what his position would be under Mason

Either way we’re looking to play more LBs that normal so I was trying to get a clue of how Mason played his rush/OLB type players and if they’d be closer to the line or not. I’d love to see Hall in a position like he was in high school, often on the edge but also lined up in a traditional OLB and blitzed and rushed from that spot at times as well. He’s a lot better athlete than ppl know

quote:No he hasn't. Its philosophically different. You've seen pressure fronts and are assuming something else.
