Agreements are made with explicit language but came be based on assumed, implied underlying facts. Saying "I'm staying through the national championship game" clearly implied "I'm staying through the national championship game on January 11th."

While somewhat true, there's also language in most agreements, especially now after what we've been through with COVID this year, like force majeure clauses for events such as this.

No, I don't think so, but I do think that it's very possible he has to reassess everything about it. He has a very limited window to set up his entire infrastructure before recruiting is full on and he tries to fill out a class, not to mention all the other stuff that goes along with taking over a massive power 5 football job and one he definitely wants to get right under a huge microscope.

I don't dispute that, but nothing about the last 12 months has been normal and nothing will be for some time. One blessing he'll have is the early signing period resulted in Texas already having 17 guys sign LOIs and 2 more guys signed as transfers. He shouldn't have a ton of recruiting left to do before NSD. Obviously none of this is ideal, but this year has been nothing but a logistical nightmare for everyone.

Like most people, I think, unless there is a really big issue I think they should play the game. But, if Ohio State is without an entire position group, then it is what it is and we move it back.

I'd imagine that both Alabama and Ohio State feel the same way.
