Yes, and the "interest" talk doesn't make much sense to me. We don't have the personnel right now to run a 3-4, and for offenses in CFB its not a good scheme. Even Saban has veered away from that philosophy. AU will get a 4-2-5/4-3 guy. The only guy I can think of that really stuck to his guns on the 3-4 was Aranda at LSU and I don't remember them being all that effective when the game evoled to what it is now. I also remember he'd run alot of "Okie" to get pressure, which is essentially bringing in a fourth lineman and pressure from an LB.

A two gap scheme takes some really different personnel than what most teams have. Also requires more heady players closer to the line of scrimmage, which frankly are hard to find. You also obviously need a huge double-gap monster in the middle. I think Mason is just talk, and I'd be concered if we went that direction.
