The answer while Smith is out is Williams, not Vanover.

Vanover is completely intimidated and everyone can see it. If he can’t hit threes he’s a complete liability. If he can’t embrace contact then he doesn’t deserve another year. We have plenty of 3pt production today notwithstanding.

If the light comes on for Williams we can at least compete inside while Smith is out. He’s got the body and athleticism, and he showed great effort today.
He just has to get comfortable. Some freshmen show up ready, but it’s easier for guards to make the fast transition.

On a related note - Unless it’s injury related Jackson should get berated like hell after this game. Because whatever he did or didn’t do to not get a single minute today is fricking unacceptable for a transfer. At least be size with 5 physical fouls and not a waste of space on the bench.

He got in for like one play and fricked up on D.

I agree that he needs his arse to get it in gear. He's got great size, and athleticism. But he obviously can't do the simple things and Muss isn't going to put up with it.

I HOPE he can get it together and show up in some way on the box score. We need him to step up.

It was apparent Jackson had been passed over in the Auburn game. He’s this year’s version of Jeantal Cylla. I actually like the transfer strategy but Muss needs to start hitting at a better rate to justify passing up on talented high school players.
