Don’t remember the details, but there were poor coaching decisions by Saban that led to that point also.
Also Saban was outcoached and fricked up the Unfair Game against Auburn.
The guy is not perfect and doesn’t lose very often, but he has often been directly responsible for his loses.
Alabama had a penalty at the goal line earlier in the game where an Auburn player did something to an Alabama player after the play was over, but the refs only caught the Alabama player. Alabama kicked a FG instead of getting a TD
The problem with the kick was not Coach Saban being outcoached, or anything like that. The reason why the kick turned into a TD is the Alabama players watched the kick instead of spreading out like they were taught, so out of position to tackle.

Bama also went for it on 4th and 1 from well inside field goal range while up 7 with only a few minutes left in the game. Not only that, but they ran the exact same play as the 3rd and 1 they had just run. Auburn stacked the box and shut it down. Granted, their kicker had missed a couple of field goals in the game, but still...

I understand your point, but I respectfully disagree.
If the players didn’t know what they were supposed to be doing...that’s on the coach.
He did have a timeout with the team on the sidelines before the play.
