Lanier,

I saw Tebow give a great analysis of that. He said the safeties doubling up on Pitts forced the linebackers up to guard the run and he kept throwing wheel routes. They would back up to cover the middle zone, he would throw underneath in those deadly 10 yard crossing routes, then pop one long to keep the linebackers back defending the middle zone....and go back to the wheel routes.

If you guys noticed in the 3rd/4th quarter part of that sloppiness in their passing game was because Pitts was out and the safeties were free to creep up and cut off those short passes.

Agree Lanier, great chess match of coaching, and Mullen was definitely winning soundly. The old days of Borges when he would make an adjustment, plan on the opposing team to adjust, and adjust to that adjustment for a wide open TD.
