Based on the growing apathy surrounding bowl games, so does the bowl season. Teams have to generate their own excitement about football regardless of where they are headed. If you look hard at history you'll find that if fans are uber excited about their team the season and pageantry of the sport goes right along with it. And "hope springs forth eternal."

Tell the truth, when Mullen's had Miss State #1 in the nation and headed to Tuscaloosa, football and the thought of joining the playoff was making you downright giddy.
