Blue Bloods are the ones that will drive TV ratings no matter their current success or failures.

Notre Dame
Alabama
USC
Texas
tOSU
Michigan
Oklahoma

That’s it’s.. and there is no way to become one. No matter the current success.

Example.
When Clemson starts to turn down, and they will; they will be a middle tier draw

If Penn St wins a title they will be hot; only to fall in ratings once they turn down again.

The teams above draw based in their name and history; doesn’t matter the current level of success.

I can agree with this although I’d still consider Nebraska since they’ve won a billion conference titles.

Exactly. If you weren't a blue blood 40 years ago, it's way too damn late to join the club. We are accepting no new members.

This is closest to the true definition. Blue Bloods have a national fan base consisting of people with no actual connection to the school, irrespective of recent success. Success may have generated that fan base, but the success is not what makes them a Blue Blood - it is the national fan base they still have and the financial support and ratings they draw.
