Yeah, people don't seem to understand the difference between a vacated win and a forfeited game.

And USC kept their AP titles anyhow.

When I said forfeit I was referring to them having to forfeit their title. USC had their title vacated. That means they can not claim they won the title that year.

Yes. I do understand the differene in a forfeited game and a vacated win. A vacated win means the "winning" team does not get credit for the win, but the loss still is on the record fo the losing team.

But USC's title was vacated, therefore their title was forfeited.

Here is the defeniton of forfeited. (Sigh. It's a shame I have to explain definitions)

tr.v. for·feit·ed, for·feit·ing, for·feits
1. To lose or give up (something) on account of an offense, error, or failure to fulfill an agreement: The other team did


Tell me how USC did not forfeit their 2004 title.
