re: What's wrong with Eli Gold?

I had a roommate in college that always talked about how terrible Eli is. I never had a problem then because I would listen to him on one of the gameday radios at the game, so obviously I could actually see what was going on. Once I was out of college and have had to rely on him for a handful of games on the radio the last 10 seasons or so I realized he really is terrible at painting a picture at what is going on. It is beyond time to move on. I just hate it that Chris Stewart has had so many medical issues that could keep him from doing it. He would be the perfect guy.

That's literally what they are paid to do though. You pay the radio announcers to be homers. Just like in MLB I expect the announcers on Fox Sports South to be Braves homers and if I were to watch a Yankees game on YES I would expect them to be Yankees homers.

But I do agree with your last two points. UGA's play by play guy is the only guy I know of that has blocked me on twitter, I would assume because I let him know just what I thought of that particular play call. Bramblet/White were unlistenable on Auburn's broadcasts because every play the other team should have been called for a penalty and if heaven forbid Auburn be penalized the refs were clearly out to get Auburn.
