I circled this game because if Eli can beat Tennessee we got a decent chance to be the second best team in the East.

I have a down to the wire game with Mizzou winning.

Mizzou - 34
Tennessee - 28

Thoughts?

I think we win if we get LR3 more touches, don’t give up and big plays(like against bama) use more clock

Expect a heavy dose of Tree. Drink even said in his postgame that he needs to feed him more. I expect the offense to look MUCH better this week with the running game opening up some downfield shots to Chism and Hazelton

It will be interesting. No way to know what to expect because teams typically improve the most from week 1 to week 2. So I think we should be a lot better but UT might get a lot better, too.

I would think this means we could win rather handily as UT's coach is a known commodity at this point and I don't recall UT ever having a significant improvement in season with this coach.

-11 for UT seems like a ridiculous line.

Also to have a decent year, this game is absolutely crucial. Gives us a chance of being 2-2 going into Florida. and after that we can still level up with Kentucky before UGA.

The media asked Chism why he didn't do much in the game and he responded "I can't throw the ball to myself"

Well, he ain’t wrong.

For all that was made of Robinson’s completion percentage I believe he only completed two passes that traveled 10 yards in the air and one was a blown coverage

Both qbs had good and bad moments and Robinson was running for his life most of the time.

Did anyone watch the Tennessee vs South Carolina game?

I saw a big improvement from Guarantano from last year. The entire team looked decent tbh.

I did. I thought he looked the same. People forget he has very good outings. He also has very bad outings. He is incredibly inconsistent.

I have not, but I jumped onto Tennys message board to see what they had to say, and based on summaries, their weakness will help a ton.

Apparently they had virtually no pass rush against SC, and stopping the run is a work in progress. But they have a great secondary. This is great for us as Robinson doesn't throw it more than 10 yards, and we should have a solid running game Saturday.

But there is one thing I saw a Tennessee fan post about that I think we may find interesting.

- One fan pointed out after watching the mizzou game that mizzou may have been running to the edge as much as they had considering how good, fast, and strong bama D is BECAUSE, Thats Tennessee's biggest weakness, as it was last year too. Perhaps Drink had already chalked this game up a loss, but decided to use it as practice against Tenny?

I mentioned a similar thought in another thread. If the OL was that decimated, keeping it simple and getting game reps in was the focus would make sense. I think this could have impacted playcalling, QB selection, etc.

We will know more this week as we should be at full strength this week vs a much weaker UT squad.

Robinson was making a lot of pressure for himself as well. Needs to get the ball out quicker and not bail every time there is a hint of pressure. He played ok besides that. Unfortunately that creates huge, drive killing negative plays

Spot on. He seemed to feel pressure where it wasn't at times and then other times he didn't feel it soon enough. He doesn't seem to have much pocket awareness.
