How is Kentucky ranked?

They were 8-5 last season and now they are the 23rd ranked team? Confused by Tennessee being ranked 16th as well.

No B1G or Pac 12 teams, so somebody’s gotta fill the extra slots

Because the rankings don't include the 5 or 6 B1G and 2 or 3 Pac 12 teams that would be ranked. And probably Boise I guess.

Auburn goes 8-5 or worse on the regular and is always ranked, so why not?

yeah, with an SEC West schedule that has generally involved beating either Alabama or a top Pac 12 team
