Dawg fans arent expecting the Patriots offense. Just a few more touchdowns than we got in 2019.

Why?

You have a Quarterback battle deep into the off-season after your de facto starter opted out of the season after a single scrimmage.

Your OC is new and has had limited reps to roll out an entirely new offensive gameplan that probably can't be implemented the way he wanted because the guy he was building it around just left. Maybe he knew this and considered adapting, but neither backup is as physical as Newman is.

You have no Quarterbacks who have actually had live reps with the team outside of Stetson Bennett, the guy who was playing with the threes. That is something that takes time to develop. Splitting reps is dangerous this close to the beginning of the season.

Your offensive line coach is no longer with the team. This is very important because Georgia almost replaced its entire offensive line, has asked them to "slim down" and is changing their style of play in an off-season with limited reps.

Your RB1 and RB2 both left, Zamir White has torn two ACLs already and has been used sparingly. Being RB1 is a lot more different than running behind good RBs (ask Swift).

Both starting TEs gone, they would have helped out a lot with the blocking scheme since the OL is going to be so unorganized.

Blaylock out for the season.

Oh, and you're only playing 10 games and exclusively playing SEC teams.

Why the frick would you think you're going to score more touchdowns?

Even if Monken is below average that's still a huge upgrade over Coley. They also have recruited ridiculously well along the OL. Even with a drop off at Qb I still don't think their offense can be worse than last year. frick Georgia and all that but that's my honest opinion

Mainly because you don't think so. you haven't been right about a Kirby Smart or Georgia prediction the 4 years Kirby has been here.

Based on 2019 alone, we only need to fix 2 things on offense. A viable deep threat. Less predictable running game.

Matt Luke reinstituted power into our run scheme against Baylor. That will create more opportunities for big running plays that we were lacking last season.

If the offense institutes more air raid concepts, we have the pieces to execute it. Pickens, Robinson, Cook, Burton, and Washington are all capable of thriving in air raid.

In 2019, teams were capable of sitting on the first 12 yards from scrimmage and limiting both our run and pass game. Any threat to force a change from that would have improved the offense. We have very good reason to expect to stress a defense in more ways this year.

As I said, we arent going to be 2019 LSU. But we were too talented for the results we got in 2019 (particularly in the run game). That is why Coley was fired. That is why Luke is an opportunity for more explosive running plays.
