There is a scientific paper that draws the conclusion that octopi are in fact alien to this planet and frozen eggs in a meteor deposited them here.
I wish I could believe.
Alien Octopus
I hope we get to explore the ocean under the icy surface of Europa during my lifetime. I fully believe there will be life there. Microbial at the very least, but also intelligent life forms could be there, possibly even more developed than on our planet.
Europa’s ocean holds twice as much water as our oceans combined and has the all the known elements to sustain life. And if there is life they could have up to a 30 million year head start on life here.
I wish I could believe.

Still wild to me that they can actually change the color (and texture) of their skin.
