I'm with you on this. I've never been a believer in the "Gateway Drug" premise. How many hardcore drug users smoked tobacco before they smoked weed? How about drank a beer? A person who is going to do an escalating spiral of drugs is probably going to do that regardless of the legality of marijuana.
I know people who smoke the sticky regularly, and have never done anything harder. Smoking weed doesn't MAKE someone think "Hey, I'll try that crystal meth now". Addictive personalities/tendenies will find SOMETHING to get hooked on, whether it be gambling, drinking, or f*@king,...
