No, I think he's talking about the science that the virus blew through their progressive utopias because their leadership was incompetent and once the virus killed everybody their case and death count dropped while the spread was just beginning in the South. Their science is narrative.

Three years from now when we have all the data, they'll brush it off and say "we've moved on to more pressing issues that was in the past."
