i guess I'm not all that knowledgeable about the 1992 Alabama team but they seem kind of high considering the dominance we've seen from Saban. I remember being surprised they dominated Miami like they did though.

The offense was terrible that year. The defense is what won the national championship.

in the "national championship game", they put 11 people on the line against a heisman winning QB and a future NFL star WR and dominated them. Teague ran Lamar Thomas down from a good 10 yards back and just took the ball from him. He would also go on to get a pick six later in the game. 1 of 3 interceptions Miami threw that night.

Alabama managed to score a couple of TDs on the ground, after help getting great field position due to the other interceptions mentioned.

Also the defense that won the SECCG.

It's impossible for me to compare those defenses with the defenses of today. It's just not the same. Apples and oranges to me.
