Unfortunately the world is full of dumbasses like this GT POS and others on here, that is why we are where we are today. The players do not realize, there is no College Football without the fans, there is no education for most without CF, and finally there is the reality of good grades and finding a job without the education. The NFL doesn’t survive at the level it is now without CF. They can not support a minor league system to produce enough athletes to field 30 plus NFL teams. Everyone wants to compare it to Baseball and their system, but in BB 98% of the minor league players are there to develop 2% of the stars that will make it to the majors. The NFL couldn't financially do the same. So the Athletes are about to screw themselves in the name of racial justice, by destroying a system that produces racial equality for those who would never see it in their lifetime. Smart.

Name-call all you want

College Coaches used to have to work in off-season selling Cars or insurance to supplement their income back in the 40s thru the 60s, unless you had one of 10 premium Jobs, and even then adjusted for inflation, the money in NO WAY compares to what they make today

Athl Dept Employees in the 40s thru 60s made paltry salaries in comparison to today

Athl Depts funded far fewer Sports back then

Back then they had:

Teams full of Players that studied hard and "represented their University"

Despite all of the above, there was no big money in College Sports

The big Money in College Sports came from 2 distinct factors, the explosion of Cable TV where every household now has 200 channels, AND the emergence of the Minority Athlete

The combination of those 2 factors is why there is so much money in College Sports, not genius HCs like Saban, we had genius HCs similar to Saban in the 40s thru 60s and adjusted for inflation, the money doesn't compare

In the 40s thru the 60s we had Fans, but not the huge economies of scale that we have now

If you really cared about RACIAL EQUALITY, then stop forcing the 2 Sports that are majority Black to finance every other MONEY-LOSING Sport and to spread some of that money around to the Revenue Making Players above their scholly

Question:

Why do YOU say these Athletes will never see racial equality in their lifetimes?

Is that because you know from personal experience that Corp America is racist?

So your idea of "racial equality" is to have these Athletes in FB & MBB at P5 Colleges , get economically taken advantage of for 3-5 yrs in exchange for a bachelor's degree, then after helping coaches to earn $9MM per yr and ADs earn $1.5MM per year, only then can they expect "racial equality"

In summary, the "buy in" for Black Athletes to earn racial equality in America is to make a lot of whites RICH ,and at the same time subsidize a lot college educations for white students in Non-Rev Sports, and then after all those millions goes to others, ONLY THEN do they get racial equality??

Simple question:

Why can't they just be born or naturalized CITIZENS that love America and obey the LAW, why can't that be the only "buy in" for "racial equality" in America?

Why does the Black Athlete have to do so much more than others to get the same "equality" that should be a part of the Social Contract that comes with American Citizenship?

There is big time money in CF today, but most of it is put back into the programs and the players. You notice very few programs are showing a profit every year and the profit is minimal compared to the revenue. The biggest difference between CF in the 40s-60s and now is the Schools use Football for marketing the Universities. The big time money is secondary to attracting future students.

Because the majority of them do not have the financial means or the educational background to achieve the benefits of most of their fellow students. They would have have to have good grades to get in the schools, good scores on entrance test, maintain good grades while in school and obtain jobs without the Athletic Dept connections. That may not be fair but that is the reality of the world for most students.

No, Corporate America is bottom line driven. How many Athletes do you know of have gotten great jobs based on the connections to playing football for a school? That goes away without Football.

Welcome to the real world. How many worker do you know that work just as hard to put food on the table for their family so CEO can get rich ? True racial equality occurs when peoples failures in life can only be attributed to personal decisions and personalities, until then we will have people making money and achieving attention of yelling racism.

That may be true for the average Black Citizen, but hasn't been true for the Black Athlete or any Athlete. They are allowed to cut to the front of the line into some elite institutions, they are fed and boarded to the level of VIPs of any institution and they are educated and tutored for success. Tell me what % of any College Student Body that can say the same. And yet they want to bite the hand.
