Bowden was 8-5-1 against Spurrier while the latter was mostly dominating the SEC; would it have been that much tougher? Granted two of those 5 Spurrier wins probably prevented FSU from winning MNCs

Agreed both Ga Tech and FSU had their chance with the SEC. Ga Tech left and Bobby Bowden didn’t want in so he personally could win national titles. His chance of doing so lessened in the SEC. Coward

A couple generations in the wilderness is punishment enough. The Atlanta market and history is worth some forgiveness.
