You bought the sanitzed Arkansas GOBN version of the Kiffin search for $1.99 and free tater tots
The Jerry Falwell Hair faction of the GOBN, responsible in part for the Morris hire (because he's like Gus!!), threw a fit for the second time about Kiffin (he was very much in the mix for HC in 2018 also)
Hunter had his man and it was Kiffin. Then the Falwell Hairs (and John Tyson for different reasons) started torpedoing the process by demanding over the top moral clauses, over the norm
They did this in intentionally to piss Kiffin off and make him walk. Then they blame it on Sexton
It's always someone else's fault with these GOBN factions - the Falwell Hair Gus Army, John Tyson and his eternal push for Butch Davis, Jerry Jones being allowed to screw us by bowing to his ego and hiring Morris (with blessing from the Falwell Hair guys), Jim Lindsay before (or alongside) most of them, many others

Mike Irwin is a bought and paid for liar for the GOBN as is Clay Henry, Wally, whoever occupies the radio mike from East Springdale, etc - Julie Cromer Peoples did not hire Chad Morris
John White and Nutt - to cover for Jim Lindsay pushing that button - the 1997 "committee" was Jim Lindsay

Poor little GOBN they always do the right thing and everything is always someone else's fault
We will lose Hunter Yurachek over that search - I'd guess he gave himself a two year plan to escape Arkansas and never have to deal with those factions again

It is whatever version it needs to be. It could be the truth or just made up information. It didn't matter anymore once your top candidates turned you down and when that happens you start scraping the bottom of the barrel and then the discussion is a bout Lane Kiffin. Moral is low and so who cares who is hired.
No one knows. Anyone can point that out as the problem and that would be easy. I never wanted Gus and I thought it was a waste of time. But it might be a last ditch effort after other candidates said no. But no one can prove that. It just depends on the agenda or excuse that keeps popping up. I do remember after Bert was fired, the Arkansas job wasn't nearly as prestigious unlike right after Petrino was fired. That was the best time to strike but we got Bert instead. A lazy hire with no research by Mr. Integrity.
Hunter had Kelvin Sampson but I guess the so called good ole boys stepped in right? Or maybe it had to do with something else? It doesn't matter because Eric Musselman was hired instead. Sometimes the best candidate isn't the first choice.
Yes message board fodder that no one cared or bothered to accept or deny. Just like Lane Kiffin was Hunter's target from the start and no other candidate was interviewed. Yeah right, the next candidate was always the target until they say no and you just keep going down the list.
I don't know a bout that. That could be the truth or just made up bullshite but I don't care. When you start getting into the low hanging fruit like Kiffin does it really matter what to believe? Not really and everyone is ready for another disaster of a coaching search to be over.
It always the so called good ole boys fault when no one wants to face reality that Arkansas is a third tier football program that has zero ambitions to be better. No one wants to admit it and after 30 years the evidence is clear. It is always someone else's fault but yet the reputation as one of the worst programs in the nation is what they have and will continue until something changes.
Jeff Long is an a-hole. I talked with hog fans that had different back grounds and they all had the same experiences. A know it all and thought himself as better than you attitude. He made fun of the hog call and thought it was hokey.
Just a bout any fan with a brain knew Julia didn't hire Chad Morris. She was the face and certainly not in control.
Mike Irwin maybe but he did get fired for revealing too much information a bout Mitch Mustain and the other Springdale players. I don't know if that is the full reason but he wasn't in the same boat as little Wally and drunk Clay Henry at least not at that time.
