They weren't strong in the 80's either. They won the SEC once, tied once. Went to a bowl game like 6 times and only won 1.

The 70's? Well, they managed to win the SEC once, and managed to win 2 bowl games out of 7.

60's a little better, but still only 1 ever SEC championship. Did win a bunch of bowl games and had winning seasons.

That's a history of mediocrity.

LSU was an easy win most years when I was growing up, and a loss usually meant it was a bad year for Alabama as a whole. Usually a radio game.

Twas before my time, but LSU's run from 1958-73 was one of the best in the country even if we didn't win many bowl games. Remember we were playing Mississippi (who was a juggernaut at the time) every year.

my word you are ignorant. lsu was 13th all time in wins BEFORE saban got to lsu. if lsu was "mediocre" what does that make everyone else from 14 on down?
