Hopefully Pittman is a good enough coach to maximize our team's potential. Then you add the hope that he can recruit somewhere near the rate he was at Georgia - not top 10 but somewhere around top 15 with some monsters on the offensive line - and we will be light years better than we were under Aggie Bert.

I fear it will be at least two years before we are competitive again in the SEC. We are going to have turn over most of the roster. I think we will win games, but its going to be a while before we are back to middle of the pack.

I agree and add that Pittman walks into an absolute shite storm of a situation.

1. We will have one of the toughest schedules in history. Notre Dame game might be a SoCal vs. Nutt type of debacle.

2. The virus mess will no doubt hamper progress.

3. Having to follow up two assholes has to be maddening. Pittman seems like a good dude but I bet he let out a storm of profanity and probably broke a whiteboard or two when he saw the shape our offensive line. You go from having a bunch of guys who spent some time in the NFL (Skipper, Kirkland, Froholdt, Ragnow, Tretola etc.) to a bunch of fat tight ends who are on the verge of medical retirement. I mean - do we even have a center who can snap the ball?

With all that being said - the bar is extremly low for Pittman.

Here is what the baseline should be:

1. WIN THE GAMES YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO WIN! We are and will forever be more talented than San Jose State. We are good enough not to get blown out by North Texas. BY GOD we should be more than competent to compete with Western Kentucky - especially when they are being led by a quarterback that Morris said wasn't good enough to start here.

2. Clean up the pre-snap/procedural bullshite. There is no reason to have two players with the same number on the field. There is no reason for a wide receiver not to understand if he should be on line or not. BY YEAR 2 - you should not be calling timeouts in the first quarter on first down to line players up and get the correct play called.

3. Win ONE SEC game. I think the standard has been already set that if a coach goes 0-fer in the SEC his first season that he will not do well in the long run. Find a way to beat Ole Miss or Missouri. Both of those teams are equal to our talent and are going through a coaching transition through this virus mess as well. Find a way to win.

So with that being said - if we finish with 4 wins and look competent going down the stretch most fans will be patient. Follow it up with a top 25 recruiting class and hit the transfer portal if need be so that we make a bowl in year 2.

A pretty depressing twitter thread to show the incompetence of our past two coaches plus the shitstorm that Pittman is walking into:
