That's false. I have years of experience being a minimal-moderation mod on a couple of other sites. I'm also on here a lot anyway, so I am actually pretty well-suited for it. I strive to live by the golden rule and believe that fellow Bama fans should generally treat each other as friends, not as adversaries.
Minimal moderation: Only if/when someone chooses to continually behave as a troll, bully, and/or shite-stirring argumentative trouble maker, will they get warned to reel themselves in. If they can't/don't accomplish that, they'll then get their 2nd warning, with a very short timeout to get their attention. If that doesn't work, then they'll get their 3rd final warning with a longer timeout. If they still continue with their problematic behavior after that, then they'll be permanently banned. Imo, that's a fair way to manage minimal moderation. Posters who continually behave like petulant childish brats, aiming to stir shite up and make it difficult for others to enjoy this board, should/will be dealt with accordingly.
I definitely prefer minimal moderation. Someone has to be pretty consistently trolling, stirring up and promoting heated arguments, making personal insult attacks toward their fellow board members, etc. to even get an initial warning. And they'll still get three "fresh restart" opportunities to prove they can refrain from their prior bad behavior(s) toward their fellow posters that led to the initial warning. But if they still can't/won't stop being a "locker room cancer," then it's their very own fault that they stubbornly kept going until they reached the point of being banned.
That's pretty much how I have handled minimal board moderation in the past -- privately via direct messaging. Unfortunately, this site does not provide direct messaging capabilities.
