Cal Poly isn't UCLA, Stanford, Cal State Fulerton, etc. They have made the tourney a total of 3 times ever. You are really dumb if you think that is a quality loss for Vandy. No it will not hurt them in the long run, but a "Power Ranking" should have them near the bottom.

ETA: They have never even made it out of a regional in their 3 appearances. This is not a historically good baseball program like you are thinking.

Power Rankings is quality of team. It doesn’t have to do with recency it wins and losses. Vandy lost two games by a run. They have freaking studs all over the place. They did nothing to fall out of the top 3 in any sec power ranking.

Likewise, it was impossible for teams like State, Tennessee etc to move up in any power ranking for beating the little sisters of the poor. It is what it is.

That's the exact opposite logic for a power ranking. A normal ranking based on wins/losses would have Vandy near the bottom. A power ranking would keep them near the top because we know how good they are and their potential for the rest of the year.
