You really don't pay attention to prep football do you? They are far from an awful program and the most wins in that region. And have made the playoffs 7 straight times.
But there has to be more to this story. After successful stops at Calera and Montevallo he will get picked up

Making the playoffs is far from the measuring stick in HS football. As long as your top four in the region you can be 3-7 and in the playoffs.

6A, region 4 is also very weak to begin with. The four Tuscaloosa schools (Bryant, Northridge, Brookwood and Hillcrest) are rarely any good or ranked in the top 10. There's no reason the three Birmingham schools (Bessemer City, Hueytown and McAdory) shouldn't make the playoffs every year. They're more talented, by far.
