re: Bama fans, do ya'll claim 15 MNC's, or 17 with 1930 & 1941?

Some teams weren't even accepting bowl invites in the 60s, chief among them Notre Dame. Had Alabama simply done what Notre Dame did for all those years and not accepted a bowl invitation at the end of the '64 season, we'd have finished the season undefeated at 10-0. And there would be no complaints except perhaps Arkansas fans arguing that the AP or UPI should have split the national championship between the two schools.
