I could care less about Burch at this time. I've been around too long to not know that one kid does not make or break a program one way or the other.

What I do dislike is when things turn ugly like this, when Mommas do things like this (and this truly has become reminiscent of the Eric Young thing up at Union who flipped and went to Tennessee at the last moment after his teammates signed with SC) .... and Young said he always regretted it and it ended up blowing up on Tennessee and the Young family. Those kinda things happen.

But I am actually a closet LSU fan. I was good friends with Paul Dietzel and my wife and I attended his funeral. I met Jerry Stovall as a young man, he still is a friend of an immediate family member of mine and stayed at our home when he came to speak at our athletic banquet. My immediate family member and he have been friends since they played in the Hershey Bowl together in Pennsylvania in 1958. It was the Army All American Bowl of the day ... the UA All American Bowl.

Hell, I used to wear purple and gold athletic socks and LSU t shirts.

So I'm not the least bit salty about this.

I'm disappointed.

I pull for LSU against everyone except SC and Ole Miss.

What is happening now is completely and totally unnecessary. I kept my mouth shut about it for a couple of days when Gamecock Club chapter presidents have been talking about it, family friends over at Hammond have been talking about it, boosters are making calls about it with one another .... and now the cat is out of the bag.

For LSU fans .... all sane LSU fans, you don't need this. You should be praying to avoid this. This is not something that will work out for the best. I would turn and run away from this recruiting shite show as fast as I could.

We should as well.

Not sure that Burch (or Zack Evans, for that matter) are worth all this. To anyone.
