You just saw a program that had won 2/3 national titles on a 30-game win-streak sawed in half by the best college football team of all-time. Hell, the team that came in 3rd was said to be the most "complete". Maybe it was a down year among at the second tier and beyond, but It wasn't a down year at the top.
