He's had terrible luck with key injuries that derailed a lot of potential success (Michael Porter 2017, Jontay Porter 2018, Mark Smith 2019 (when he was actually good last year), Jeremiah Tilmon 2020).

The AD doesn't support the basketball program. As a result of the AD's negligence and the lack of success, the fans don't support the program either.

The AD insists on trying to run a clean program in a game where it is PROVEN that you have to cheat to compete at a high level. Cuonzo is offering recruits a chance to play hard defense, at a school that doesn't care about basketball, with minimal fan support and a track record of losing. Other coaches are offering those same recruits $$$, fame, rabid fanbases, winning tradition.

The best salesman in human history couldn't sell Mizzou to a top-tier recruit.

Oh, and as 808 mentioned, his assistants are an absolute joke.

Not saying you are wrong about any of the current situation, but.....

What have you seen to suggest Sterk is neglecting basketball?

A school that does not care about basketball?
I think the Stewart years when Babs was trying to run athletics into the ground would contradict your assertion about the Tiger fanbase not caring about basketball.
I think the fans support would return if we saw a full season of improvement and play that suggested better things are coming. Have not seen much of that since Haith's first season.

I suspect the comment about compliance has some merit as well. Between the Adidas scandal and other recent investigations, we have seen what an invisible joke the compliance office is at many other big basketball schools. If MU's office is not a joke, our coaches have one more speed bump to get over that its competitors do not.
