actually I think the joke was one of his claims for damages was loss of consortium (shocker), so his man gun doesn't "fire" but his real one does.

I thought the lawsuit said that it "kept" him from duck hunting (while he was recovering), not that it "keeps" him from duck hunting. Past tense vs present tense is important.
I don't know how losing the pinky (once healed) would prevent hunting. I would think that it would suck to try to shoot a gun following partial amputation until it healed. Remember, it has been 2 years since the chair incident.
