So who the frick do you want to be qb next season... Bennett, Beck, or Mathis?

I'm not writing those guys off just yet. I've watched a couple of Newman's games, namely Syracuse (he only played one and a half quarters before he got injured) and Michigan State. It was a mixed bag of good and bad. He had some good runs and some not so good runs. He's mobile but not what I'd call fast taking off from the pocket. Scrambled out of trouble sometimes and also missed seeing some pressure that he might have avoided. If forced to scramble, he seemed more likely to run than throw, but it's hard to judge if any receivers were open. Plenty of arm strength and made several very nice throws, but also had some ugly unforced errors on very makeable throws. My first impression is he may be less accurate than Fromm on short to medium throws, maybe more on long throws.

In other words, I'm not fully convinced that Newman will just run away with the job. If he does, I hope it's because he makes a significant step forward this offseason vs the games I've watched so far.
