Who does the grading for this site? Do they have former coaches grading the film?

They don’t really say. I’m sure at least some are former players and coaches.

Is the full 22 game film given to them to review?

Yes

Now this is for the NFL but I’m sure there’s something similar for college. Maybe not quite as extensive though.
quote:

Each game is also graded by a second PFF analyst independent of the first, and those grades are compared by a third, Senior Analyst, who rules on any differences between the two. These grades are verified by the Pro Coach Network, a group of former and current NFL coaches with over 700 combined years of NFL coaching experience, to get them as accurate as they can be. From there, the grades are normalized to better account for game situation; this ranges from where a player lined up to the dropback depth of the quarterback or the length of time he had the ball in his hand and everything in between. They are finally converted to a 0-100 scale and appear in our Player Grades tool.

But there’s definitely quite a bit of subjectivity. They’re not going to be completely wrong on a player (an extremely low graded player isn’t going to be really great in actuality) but take their grades with a grain of salt.

Yep - also there is no curve for quality of competition. That makes sense in the NFL, but it's hard to do in college (ie a couple of MAC and Sun Belt QBs in the Top 10 QBs). It's also hard to do a sliding scale like that, because it's possible a kid just hasn't been allowed to compete against high level teams and he's being unfairly downgraded for something he can't control.

Using it in unison with something like SEC Statcast metrics gives me a pretty good feel for a guy, but you always have to look at that stuff as one of many tools.

Hard to believe he was the 1or 2 ranked ILB or he put on the “freshman 15 “ in the wrong places

He could still develop though into a serviceable player if he gets body right. He is a hitter
