Well, tickets to a big SEC game are $100+.
To take a family of four to a football game?
$400 - tickets.
$100 - food
$50 - gas
$50 - Misc.
_____
$600
Now, if you live far enough away you have to rent a hotel for a night or two. You can push that total to $800-1000
$800 - $1000 to take the family to a football game.
I wonder why people are watching on the big screen at home?

Shizum bruh, I'ma drop that on a trip for me and the girlfriend to a UGA game and I've got season tickets. I've gotten to where I go to the good games and sell the tickets to the rest. Sometimes you can't give away tickets to an early season, early kickoff snoozer. By the time you figure a hotel room (2 night minimum), cute Instagram brunches on Saturday and Sunday, tailgate contribution, booze, something from the bookstore, and a little nightlife and I can drop a G spot easily on a weekend.
Vis a vis staying at home and being able to shoot birds in the morning or play a round of golf, produce my own concessions, and not deal with traffic....I'll definitely always want to go to the Georgia-SEC games, but I get why folks stay home. When a couple of little Enoses come along in a few years I'll be doing good to make a game a year I'm sure. I don't see how families afford it. I guess you can drop the hotel room but my Four Seasons syndrome won't let me sleep on couches anymore and who really wants to drive home after a day of drinking and tailgating and going to a game?

You forgot the other costs to Tenners. You have to get your women hosed down and you have to get a new pair of overalls.

I guess driving a tank is one way to get to the game.
