He may not have any this year, but that is poor thinking. He is thinking 3, 5, 10 years from now.
A bird in hand is worth more than two in the bush.
He's guaranteed 10 or 12 million. Would you take that right now or would you risk next season at Ulala? What if he goes 7-5? What's his worth then? Even if he wins the conference next year, will he command what the current conference champ earned this year? If he wins how much more do you think he will get? maybe a little more? What's that money difference vs a bump in pay for winning 6 games next at State? Which coaching spots are going to come open?
Mike Norvell is only making 3.75M next year at FSU then a bump up to 4. I think he had a better year than Napier.

but if it isn't Napier it isn't because WE said no.
It just might be if he wants more than his worth.

k.
Only he gets to determine his worth. That's the problem is all of you assume that Mississippi State has leverage on his career. That is absolutely right the opposite. Only a handful of Teams are destination places. So we have to "overpay" by fans standards or raise our standards. In his mind, he is in the driver's seat for Mississippi State and anyone currently doing well in the G5 would think the same thing if Mississippi State calls.
