Art Briles may have coached under Leach but he does not at all run the air raid.

Briles roots are the veer, single wing, option type stuff and then uses simple, wide open spread and effective passing concepts off of that base. He loves the run. Air raid, by its very name, loves the pass.

It's kind of how Guss began as a single wing guy and based the Wildcat off of that.
If you read that thread the other day going into great detail on the Briles offense, it's weakness is against teams trained to stop the option, like the service academies.

The air raid's weakness is playing against elite speed and physicality that many SEC defenses posses.

I know briles doesn’t run the air raid but he has a few air raid concepts in the passing game that he’s molded and made his own unique style out of


ETA: Which is why I’m glad Kendall briles has some variations of air raid and veer option. It allows us to be multiple and attack defense in a lot of different ways
