'm currently test driving cars, a few in ATL and not one dealership has an expiration date on the dealers tag.

On the metal tags?

No, I'm test driving the new 2020's. All they have are the plastic dealership tags with dealer info/phone#/website on the tag no metal tags that I've seen yet.

That's not an expiration date. That is the current year for ad valorum taxes.

They have expiration dates on cars sold for the owners new tag. Typically it is for a month or so. Their temporary tag should be replaced with the permanent tag.
