It was pretty nasty up here, a lot of neighbor vs neighbor fighting

You want to talk about nasty, google Order No. 11. All the people in 4 counties in Missouri on the border with kansas (with the exception of folks in a few 'larger' towns like KC, Harrisonville, Independence and a few others) were given 15 days to leave. Then they went and burned down almost all their homes and farms.

Harrisonville has a cabin in town that was moved from a remote place in the county, because that cabin was one of the only antebellum buildings outside of the towns to survive that era.

A "jayhawker" is synonymous with a terrorist, yet our fine friends to the west have the blood-soaked thing as their mascot. It would be tantamount to the University of New Jersey having the mascot the fighting Al Queda's - see how the people in NY would take to that.

The hate runs deep between our states. If you don't have roots here, you definitely won't get it. But it's real

Very familiar with Order Number 11. My family was from the Little Dixie area so I heard stories from my great grandfather when I was a kid about it all that had been passed down.
