He checks all the boxes for what I believe we need here.

Like no P5 experience whatsoever? Like almost no chance of assembling an SEC caliber staff? Like being at the absolute bottom of an incredibly steep learning curve, that takes years at best to learn, and has eaten better, more experienced coaches alive? Like being willing to be fed to a fan base that is now out for blood, because we fired a coach who was woefully over his head, and hired one with even less experience?

What boxes exactly does Drinkwitz check? Willingness to take the job?

We may be stuck in up and comer mode, IMO. And last time out the thing with Norvell is almost the exact same scenario.

This time we should try not to burn that bridge because Drinkwitz may very well end up being at a big program in the near future.

The lack of P5 experience is concerning. But I don't think it should be a deal breaker at all. My #3 on the wish list was Craig Bohl. All these guys have to get started somewhere. We need the best possible X's and O's guy we can find, IMO.

It may be time we accept that we really screwed up 2 years ago and nobody wants this job. Lots of negatives going against us right now.

Anybody expecting some big name proven winner Is screwed. Lane was our one shot at a name and that’s gone whether it be our fault or somebody else’s.

Eliah Drinkwitz could be one heck of a hire.

He’s been around the SEC and ACC before. He’s been in college football for a decade and had some pretty good mentors. If that’s not enough then somebody should tell Oklahoma that Lincoln Riley should be fired because he isn’t qualified.

We are essentially asking a guy to risk his career to come be our coach.
